App immediately closing after clicking areas on map
|
Ahoy — Has anyone else had issues with the entire mobile app completely closing after clicking on area details while using the map? For the past month or so, without fail, if I try to look at a certain area on the map — e.g. click on a crag/boulder to see the various climbs, grades, etc. — then hit the back button to return the map, the app closes. Every single time. It is driving me bananas. I'm using an iPhone that I just updated to the latests iOS (which could be the culprit itself). I have not delved into or added the onX mapping functions, but was hoping to just keep my business as usual. Anyone else being forced to click 5x as much as used to be needed to view info in the wild? Any recommended fixes? |

Quincy Snowdon wrote: Hey Quincy, we saw reports of this bug and put out a new version with a fix. If you tap "About" at the bottom of the main app screen, make sure that you're on Version 4.6.0 from October 1st. If you're not, you can update the app in the App Store. Then reboot and see if the back button bug persists. If it does, please follow up here with the specific steps to reproduce the bug so that we can investigate it. Thanks!
I'd be curious to hear where this is happening. If you're logged into the app, you should only see one message about onX Backcountry to click out of and then it should be business as usual. To view MP on the site, you'll need to log in and complete the upgrade to connect to onX, which is free and requires a few clicks (assuming you don't have duplicate MP accounts). Happy to help if you have questions or run into issues. |

Thanks so much, Zander. That did the trick. I feel whole again.
Thanks again for the quick reply! |

Glad that helped! Thanks for confirming. Sorry, I meant where in the app or site were you running into "being forced to click 5x." We've been dialing back the banners and ads for onX so I was mostly wanting to make sure that you hadn't run into an edge case where those were still especially bad (they're still present but hopefully quieter and easier to dismiss). |
