Unparallel Uplace fit/stretch questions

Anyone else have these? I just ordered a 10.5 (my street shoe size) and a 10 and am trying to decide if I like the fit. I want them for outdoor trad — for now, mostly moderate Yosemite granite cracks and slabs— and I will probably wear very thin socks with them, as is my practice. The 10.5 is very comfy on most of the foot, toes right to the end with some ever so slightly curled. Hoping that the shoes will stretch just a little bit, to leave toes lying fully flat but still snug. The only glaring issue is the heel cup is a bit baggy — does this correct itself with break-in?

The 10, on the other hand, is less baggy in the heel cup but actually painful in the Achilles area, and the toes are noticeably curling. So it seems the 10.5 is the way to go, if I keep one. Unfortunately I ordered from a site (backcountrygear) that seems a bit strict with their return policy, so I don’t want to give them much of a try-out at the gym or outdoors.

I wear a 10 or 10.5 street shoe, and wear a 9.5 uplace that's pretty comfy and flat enough for crack climbing. Unfortunately they have the 5.10 heel that is forever super baggy; stretch doesn't do anything for it. I'm just not counting on tech heel hooking in my crack shoes.

Gotcha. Did they have much of a break-in period or stretch much? My feet are somewhat wide, which may explain why I need to downsize less. (I find Sportiva generally too narrow.)

Mine didn’t stretch but they became way less stiff after a few days out.

Yeah, not particularly stiff, I also have wide hobbit feet which is why i usually upsize in street shoes. Not a ton of break-in or stretch.

I had a different pair of UPs, but assuming it’s the same uppers - they will not stretch. Toebox will break in, but if your toes are curled they’re prolly gonna stay curled.

In the uprise VCS I found the LV snugged up the baggy heel without having much difference in length or more importantly for me the forefoot width, but I have narrow midfoot and high arches, ymmv. In my upmoccs I just downsized because they stretch so much. Personally having trouble finding the UpLace LV in the US tho as I'd also like something neutral and stiff for cracks and chill face climbs.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
