Who knows what’s out there? Looking for a fairly warm, soft-inside, smooth-faced outside, top. Low profile, under-helmet hood. Low profile, fleecy cuffs with thumb loops. Chest pocket. Can be full zip or half. More pockets or just the chest one. Wind/water resistant isn’t important, but smooth for shedding snow and bushwhacking is important.  Think of the Arc Teryx Proton SL, but with an R1 Hoody hood and cuffs. The Mountain Equipment Switch Pro Hooded looks kinda close to what I’m looking for. What else am I missing on the market?

I think this is pretty close: https://www.kuiu.com/products/pro-merino-200-zip-t-hoodie-verde-camouflage-2-0?variant=40536250679454

Might be worth checking other hunting outfitters—they seem to do tougher face fabrics for bushwhacking.

“Bushwhacking” might have been distracting. Doesn’t need to be carhartt tough. Just gotta not pick up leaves and such like fleece would.

I would look at 3 Rab pieces.
Vapour rise alpine jacket

Ascendor summit hoodie

Xenair alpine light hoody.
all three are amazing pieces of kit. The vapour rise is a very overlooked great piece.

take a look at this one: https://verticallstore.com/products/kailas-mens-o2-extreme-softshell-jacket?variant=41847540580506

nice quality, albeit I find it breathes too well: more wind protection than a fleece, but I wouldn't want to belay in it in windy conditions. it should work great for BC/XC skiing, hiking, etc

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
