Area Map Not Working in iOS App
|
Hi! When I search for an area, open the area page, and then click MAP, it does not navigate me to the area map. It just opens the map as far zoomed out as possible and doesn't highlight the selected area if I zoom in manually. Anyone found a fix? I've reinstalled the app twice already to no avail. |

My map on Android only shows downloaded areas. Any ideas on how to fix this? |

I have the same map zoom issue on my iPhone. It used to zoom into the area. |

Thanks, all. This was reported a few weeks ago and it appears to be an issue with iOS specifically. In Android, I'm able to search an area, open Map, and then see that area at an appropriate zoom level. As noted above, in iOS, the map doesn't auto-center or zoom to the searched and selected area and it only shows a black circle for the selected area if that area has routes and not sub-areas. I will see what I can find out! |

Can confirm this is a recent issue for me as well on iOS (last month or two). Click on map for a specific area and it just takes me to the entire United States zoomed out. |

Same here. This is driving me nuts! Anyone know if a fix is being worked on? |

Bumping in hopes that someone has found a solution. |

Still an issue. I use the feature a lot when I'm en route to the crag or the day before (IE where the problem isn't solved by just hitting the 'near me' GPS button) so this is quite a bummer. |

Only workaround I've found is by selecting a sub-area (one with no sub-areas within it), it will show a black circle. Then you can just zoom in on that. Annoying but at least it's functional-ish that way. |

This will be fixed in the next release of iOS. Coming soon, stay tuned... |

Any idea if it’s related to having too many photos downloaded? Just occurred to me as a potential culprit. I feel like my app started working worse when I downloaded all of Joshua tree. |
|
FYI this appears to be affecting Android as well. The near me functionality is completely broken at the moment in addition to the issue stated above. Every map starts by pointing me to the west side of Africa. |

Mark, the android Near Me map is working for me. Can you verify you have location permission enabled? On Samsungs, long-press on the launcher app, tap the circle-i, tap Permissions. On Pixels, go to system settings, Apps, Mountain Project. Please contact us on the help page if it still doesn't work, and we'll troubleshoot more. |

Fixed finally for me on iOS. Thanks! |

This App is total Crap! |

After the update, it will open on the correct part of the map, but rarely doesn't load the little bubbles that show the available climbing areas. I'm still convinced it has something to do with having too many photos downloaded, but at this point we just use two MP apps - mine has all the photos, my buddy's helps with directions essentially. |
