Anybody know any of the details of the accident were the climber fell into the lake around Miners Castle? The few articles out there say they suspended the search but I did find one that seems to confirm they found a body.

As of a few hours ago anyway (before noon) no recovery has been made and no immediate plans to try due to conditions.   Was a newer climber practicing traversing it seems when he fell in, or maybe traversing to get to main climb.  More details will shake out eventually.

Totally Sucks.  Best wishes to his family.  Obviously Ice climbing over essentially open water, or worse, ice choked water, demands some extra precautions and considerations.  This area is very unique in that respect.  Be careful out there at the Fest this weekend

Thanks for the update Mark.  Sad anytime a fatal climbing accident.  Hopefully this doesn’t cast a shadow on the ice fest this weekend.

Caught an update on this a few days ago. Body was recovered: https://www.miningjournal.net/news/front-page-news/2023/02/body-recovered-from-superior/
I was passing through on my way up for a ski trip and caught some local news on it. Still not seeing much details on what happened. I'd like to echo Mark on the extra precautions bit;  especially around Lake Superior no matter the time of year.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
