Buffalo park - trashed

Active homeless camp throughout the Buffalo park boulders. I met one of the residents who was quite hostile towards me. They told me to fuck off and never come back. Tons of trash and human waste everywhere. Several problems not climbable in their current state. Probably best to avoid the area for now. A cleanup will certainly be needed after they move on. 

Wow, this really sucks. I hope this issue can be resolved.

Did you call Flag PD about all this Tim?  

Wow this is so frustrating, I agree with JJ, please call FPD about this. I've run transients out of the boulders before, but this sounds worse.  

Howdy Tim and anyone else, 

If y’all could give me a holler about your interactions with the transient camp I’d appreciate it.  I had a run in this evening that culminating Flag PD being called and likely multiple felony charges against the individual from me and FPD.  I’m usually a live and let live but after 30 mins of being cornered under the centerpiece it was too much.  I’ve brought my daughter out here and the state of the area and territorial was of the resident are unacceptable.  Feel free to drop me a line or answer in here. I appreciate it. 

Thanks Dean Hoffman! Plus one for bringing kids out and keeping Buffalo Park nice. My Mom used to take me here when I was little to scramble around the rocks and this was formative in my love of climbing. Had she had to face aggressive confrontations we surely wouldn't have had all those lovely days playing outside on these rocks. So, again, Thank You!

I went out and removed a few bags of trash yesterday. No aggressive homeless people this time! I would estimate there’s 15+ bags worth of trash remaining. Community service and the cave that houses the Mattson problem/ Double dip are the most heavily burdened areas. Tons of trash scatted throughout the boulders as well.

If anyone is heading out there, please take a trash bag and pack out what you can.

Has anybody been out to Buffalo Park since the snow has melted?  I haven't been back up there since last year as the guy I had the interaction with is still at large the last time I spoke with the prosecutor.  He has multiple felony warrants from my case and several others and is considered high needs-high risk meaning severely mentally ill with high potential for violence.  The prosecutor was attempting to get him into mandated mental health treatment but he stopped showing up to his pretrial hearings...  Soooo long story longer, I'd love to get back up to Buffalo park, but if he's still squatting there I feel it would be irresponsible of me to put myself in contact with him again.  Any updates would be awesome.  Cheers.
