2000 Ford E250 Van V8, Factory CNG (compressed natural gas), 117,xxx miles. Asking $6,500; we'd also consider trades for a street legal dirt bike or small motorcycle.

We bought this van while living in San Diego pre-COVID and converted it to a campervan with the intention of using it for weekend getaways to JTree, Red Rock and the Utah Hills. It has a full size bed (which can be turned into a bench and a table), a kitchen (propane stove, sink), storage (shelves and under-bed drawers), a Maxxfan vent, a 250W solar panel + deep cycle battery, and a 1000W inverter. The van is also fully insulated, including the floor.

The van was an ex county mobile office, and government ownership means it was well taken care of and regular serviced. When we bought it, it already had all the office equipment removed (and obviously no backseats). It also came with custom sliding tinted windows (with bug nets). For its age it has very  low miles and mechanically it really is in excellent condition. In our ownership we have never taken it to the mechanic except for oil change.

So why are we selling? Because it runs on CNG and due to COVID, we've moved to the Sierra eastside where there are no public CNG stations. In SoCal it was great because the fuel is very cheap and burns very clean (you can get a clean energy sticker for it and use the van in carpool lanes), and CNG stations were everywhere. We've taken the van to Sacramento, Grass Valley, Yosemite, Las Vegas, St. George and Joshua Tree and saved money on gas everywhere we went. While in CA the gas is nearly $4/gallon, two weeks ago in Barstow we filled for $2.40/gallon and last week in St. George it was $2.

The Good:

no mechanical problems;

under-carriage is very clean, no rust whatsoever;

very low miles;

good cosmetic shape;

the CNG is Ford factory installation, not an after-market conversion;

4 nearly new all-season tires + new full-size spare;

cheap on gas, burns clean (engine oil is always very clean), better for the environment;

campervan conversion done (insulation + kitchen + solar + bed + storage; took us a long time), road-trip ready!

Things you should consider:

-CNG is not everywhere - you cannot take the van to Bishop or Tahoe or Reno, for example.

-12 Gallon 3600PSI CNG tank equates about a 200-mile range on one tank, less if you are a speed demon or drive in traffic/cities a lot. But it would serve you well anywhere between SoCal and Salt Lake City, for example.

-passenger-side windshield has a crack.

We are still occasionally using the van, which is parked in Las Vegas, so the odometer reading will go up a little over time. Let me know if you want to check it out or have questions. Thanks!

Will consider partial trades for a street legal dirt bike or a small engine motorcycle!
