Accidentally Ordered a M/L Mountain Hardware Crag Wagon, Did I Size Wrong?
|
Hey y'all, I found a good deal for a Crag Wagon 45L on eBay for ~$145 new but didn't realize the size until after I had paid. I looked at the sizing sheet on their product specs and I think I may be shy of the waist measurement by ~2", the torso will fit a little tall but within range. For reference, I'm 5'8" ~150 lbs. All that being said, did I totally just blow ~$145 on a backpack that won't fit me correctly? Thanks! |

Amazing bag first of all.. only minor complaint is the lack of a brain/something to cover the top. If you got caught in a downpour, even when cinched up, some water would get in. An oversized backpack rainfly is a great workaround. My buddy and I both have the s/m, but I cant imagine m/l will make that big of a difference, even when stuffed to the gills. It's not like you're backpacking with it- it's for the crag/short approaches. I led an easy (5.5) trad route with it and then belayed up my second to avoid a muddy approach back to the car and it was pretty unwieldy, but I dont think sizing would change this. I'd say the $ you saved is worth the minor inconvenience of an "imperfect fit". I'm 5'11", 165 with stupidly broad shoulders for reference. If anyone reading this is pondering the 60L vs the 45, I'd get the 60L, even if you only plan on bringing 45L of shit (it's easier to dig around in when it's not stuffed). I'm also the opposite of a minimalist, so YMMV.. |

No problem. If you do multipitch climbing, I highy recommend Mtn. Hardwear's Multipitch20 or 30L bags- they're they same material and from the same line. I like them even better than the CragWagon. I think you add the badge under "Your Page" and then on the far left of the screen it takes you to, it says "Edit Profile" and then there's a two boxes you can check for AAC and AF, respectively. |
