We’re visiting for the weekend (here now) and looking for a crag (sport or top rope preferred) that is safe and fun for our 5 & 8 year old to hang out at. Also if any of you with kiddos want some company let me know! -Rachel 530-355-2932

Kid friendly is hard a bit hard to find in Flagstaff. Jacks Canyon is the most kid friendly but is not in Flagstaff. The Pit has a few easier routes set up by sport climbing but also has some ledges for kids to fall off. West Elden has some easier routes that can be set up as TR or trad led. The Overlook also has a few trad routes that are easier and can be set up as TR. A helmet is a good idea at the Overlook.

The peaks is safe for kids but it is a longish walk for small kids.

I believe my friends did the Lower Pumphouse Wash with their 5 year old.

At a later date we went to Prescott and climbed the Granite Dells park near the stairway loop trail. We had kids 5, 6, &8 years old with us.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
