How to try on shoes if no store carries your size??

Hi everyone,

- I'm a size 47 or 46.5 for climbing shoes which isn't carried in any of the shops near by.  I'm looking for a more aggressive shoe like a Scarpa Instinct. Shops only carry my size in beginner shoes.

- I know I can go on forums to see how various shoes fit, order to the store and return if they don't fit but that's a crazy and impractical solution. To get a good fitting shoe feel like you need to try on several sizes for each of a few different types of shoe.

- Do any of the climbers out there with large flippers have a solution to this problem especially during a pandemic?

You can order online from REI (must pay for it), have it shipped to your local REI and try them on in the store,

If they don't feel right, return them immediately to the store, then repeat. No repackaging for shipping, no shipping cost.

REI carries more shoes online, than they do in the store.

I called La Sportiva and asked them this question and they said to order via Zappos, which has free returns. So order a few sizes and find the best one.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
