I agree, that your proposal would be fine. I just don't believe the admin are motivated to give it to us. My proposal is how we as a community can force the issue. I prefer your solution if the admin care to listen to the community. I see most of the post saying to bring the function back but I don't see how the admin will care as it defeats their purpose of removing it.

I get that. I always click on interesting threads, regardless of where it is. Unfortunately others who do the same seem to have ruined it. 

I'm a fan.

Next they should remove the forums entirely. Then the route database.

What “problem” is this fixing?   Other than reducing traffic and making the whole website more boring, “safe”, and lame

The trolling has always been here, it's the sanctumounous whining that is a recent addition.

"bumping" isn't really a thing when there's no "Latest Posts" page and the subforums aren't deluged with a bunch of new threads. 

Hurray!! Great job, Nick Wilder. Burying the General Forum was definitely a mast stroke. Keep the trolls attending their jobs and being productive and off Mountain Project.  MP trolls go start a Facebook group and troll away!.
