MOCCASYM DISCONTINUED!?
|

I emailed Adidas about when they would restock the mocc and got this reply. Am I reading this right? Is 5.10 becoming an independent brand again or is 5.10 going to become a thing of the past? |

I'd sure like to get some info on this. I thought Nancy Prichard-Bouchard was on MP, she works or worked for Five Ten in media relations. It would be nice to get some info on this form someone on the inside. When I got an email this week saying the Grandstone was a seasonal shoe and won't be back out until July I started thinking something bigger might be up. Hopefully they can stay afloat. |

They couldn't have written that any more cryptically if they tried. |

The adidas moccs were pretty poor quality in my experience. Maybe consider the unparallel upmocc or evolv addict slipper |

I didn't have any issues with quality with the adidas moccs (usually got 300 granite pitches and everyday gym bouldering use out of a pair before they died). |

I have one pair of pre-adidas moccs that have held up great over 300+ pitches (some sandstone but mostly coarse granite). I've had and returned 3 pairs of post-adidas moccs, all of which tore a hole in the top, side, or even sole after 50 pitches or less. I can't prove that they're shit, but I definitely don't wanna use them any more haha |

I think the email is saying Spring 2021, 5.10 will not exist and will exist as Adidas. |

John Clark wrote: FWIW I checked my friends out and they are not 100% copy of the old skool mocs, which i loved. The toe profile is thicker and the shoe is stiffer in general. Both of these were negatives for me since i really just liked my mocs for those thin splitters. |

The UP Mocc fits similar to the current 5.10 mocc. Stretches slightly less, the heel is lower volume and more tensioned. They're one of my go-to bouldering shoes, as well as sport. |

The Customer Service reply is very cryptic indeed. The way I am interpreting it is that come Spring 2021 Five Ten will not exist, and Adidas Outdoor will just be referred to as Adidas. We can only assume what that looks like, but I think we all knew it was only a matter of time. |

My take is, this is corporate language for “we f*cked up” and are relegating control of the 5.10 line back to 5.10 as an independent entity. |

I have a pair of almost new of Mocs from last year, size US 9.0, I would sell for $75 plus $5/shipping ($80 total). I used them 5 times in gym only, too small. PM me if interested. |

Five Ten is not going away and the Mom is not going away either. adidas is just pulling out of the distribution in the US and bringing in to adidas for more focus. Five Ten will have a lot more focus moving forward in adidas. |
