Recently converted some quickdraws (Trango phase draws) from normal 12 cm draws into alpines with 60 cm slings. Now I have 6 dyneema dogbones. Before I sell them, is there anything I could make/rig with these?

i used to use one taped on a bottle for water to carry up on multi pitch stuff a few pitches when it was hot out.....thatll leave ya 5 for whatever else....unless you think you need 6 bottles.....

The only other use I've seen of a dogbone that looked remotely useful to me was this: petzl.com/US/en/Sport/Insta…

So.... you plan on never using 12cm draws ever again? Personally I like to have a mixte of lenght on my harness, mostly because extra long draws can be cumbersome if that's all you have. Depends what you climb I guess, but there are seldom single/few pitches trad climbs where I would only need long draws.... I would just get a few cheap biners & have more draws, but that's me.

Locker draw. Useful for a lot of situations: leg of an anchor, rappel extension, tether for cleaning an anchor, and more.

Hold on to them. You'll likely want more short draws again at some point.

Sell or give away with an item next time you have something to unload on MP. If you're not comfortable climbing on them, just be sure to state that. Some people's comfort levels differ and they'll be stoked on cheap gear.

I hang my gear up in a high (20') garage.  I use old bones with "S clips" from Hm D.  This is a great way to spread out and hang a lot of gear on a pulley system.

Good point, I guess I wasn't very clear. I converted the set of Trango draws to alpines but I still have 10 positrons and 4 spirit expresses. So...bases covered, I suppose.

Great idea! Thanks for the reply.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
