Hi, I’m Alex! I’m a Seattle-based ski mountaineer, and looking for new partners. My former partner is taking a few years off the climbing/skiing scene due to fatherhood, and I am searching for some rad folks to climb mountains with.

A little about me:
-this is my second year of serious ski alpinism in the Pacific Northwest. I also spent two years in New England climbing and skiing

-I am AIARE 1 and WFR certified, ideally you are the same.

-I have a fair amount of experience on rock, ice, and glaciers; and am looking to use that background on more ski ascents. Mixed climbed, WI 2-3 climbs, steep snow, glacier ice: these are formats I am competent in but still learning more!
-looking to accomplish some big WA peaks this season still, primarily in the North Cascades National Park (N Face of Shuksan, Buckner) and unique volcano routes (N. Ridge of Baker, Fuhrer Finger on Rainier). Open to other rad ideas or more mellow objectives too!
-an average bigger day for me looks like 10 miles, 6 k vert. My usual pace is nothing crazy, usually 1k vert gain per hour.

If this sounds like your objectives and background too, we are probably a good match! I am pretty laid back, happy to drive far, and make good decisions to stay safe in the mountains. Let’s connect, and grab a beer or food somewhere to chat?

If you’re interested, shoot me an email! hatcher_alexander@wheatoncollege.edu is the best way to reach me
