A friend and I were thinking of flying into Vegas and renting an AirBNB or similar. Would it be beneficial/possible to UBER vs renting a car for daily red rock trips?
We looked into getting a ride from the BLM campground to the strip one night. It was way too expensive, even splitting it 4 ways. Rental car is most definitely cheaper and convenient.
Then you will call Uber to pick you up when you are done climbing? Is there cell reception at all the trailheads? Sounds like a pain in the ass coupled with delays waiting to be picked up after climbing. Are you going to pay the Uber driver the fee to drive the loop road?
I picked up a Belgian tourist this summer that had taken uber out there. He didnt realize he couldn't get back due to lack of reception and was out roasting in the noon sun. Just rent a car.
Thanks For the responses! I was thinking that was the case, we drove out and camped the last few times. I was told you could set a time and place for the UBER driver to pick you up. .. Complicates things when you get out late, and the park is closed. Just thought it could be an option. Very good to know
