Nice resurrection.

During the hiatus in this thread, 265,000+ dead Americans from COVID-19.

Seems like being offended has taken a back seat to more important things?

Pretty soon there will be COVID inspired route names that someone’s gonna cry about. COVID Crack, ICU Showdown, Ventilator Face, Hydroxychloroquine Memorial Route, No Vaccine For The Poor, Masks Off...

I could go on...

The real question is what do people on MP.com know about Seth Putnam and his band AxCx.

I think Kung Flu was the funniest one so far, the rest Trump came up with crossed the line to varying degrees.

In the US Politics have been a part of climbing since at least John Muir. And a driving force in early California climbing and conservation was the Sierra club (public lands, land use, environmental management are all political). Unfortunately a lot of them while pushing for environmental conservation were also pushing for white supremacy. Although Muir may have evolved his views later in life

Some people may not have been aware of politics in climbing in the past but that is was more due to their insular environment than climbing as a whole. Saying in the good old days there was no problem is indicative of ones privileged position. When you weren’t the target of discrimination it was possibly no big deal and maybe invisible to you  But to the people who have to deal with it, I’m sure it sucks. Put yourself in someone’s else’s shoes with honesty and integrity and perhaps you’ll understand what people are striving for.

I know the photo was GG. Seth Putnam was an equal character I was hoping those offended by GG would look him and his band up. He was like the GG Allin of Grindcore.
