What is the best guidebook for climbing in the Verdon Gorge? Do any of the new guidebooks contain some of the steeper sectors such as La Ramirole

One of the multipitches I am trying to find more info on is Halix (7b+)

Thanks!

Dana, did you look on line? I have been there to climb and as I recall beta was easy to find by talking to folks over lunch and dinner and on the internet.

Wish I could be of more help. That said I assure you that your climbing will be incredibly memorable.

Thanks Michael! I was able to find plenty of info online for many verdon classic routes such as la demande, but some of the newer sectors / routes seemed to be difficult to find info on

Dana,  It's been almost 15 years since I was there, but Le Perroquet Vert, in the heart of La Palud is the place (or at least was the place) to get information.  I think Sabine and Michel still run it, and they will have all the latest beta.   Their climbing shop is fully stocked, and if you haven't picked out a place to stay, I highly recommend it.   Write them, they both speak Anglais.  ;-)

EDIT: Oops, forgot the link:  http://www.leperroquetvert.com/index.html

Check out the Gite L'Escales. The guy that runs it, Pascal Faudou, wrote the most current guidebook and the is an English version. He is a local guide. We stayed there recently and he was super helpful and it was a great place to stay. He has copies of his book and so does the local shop.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
