Pretty much any of the popular groomed runs.

If you want to mix skiing and ice climbing try Smuggler's Notch.

Or per Marc's snarky comment, pretty much any ski slope in the NorthEast.

I'm all to familiar with east coast scratchin. Haha. I have to make a killington run and was hoping to maybe swing a tool. Guess I'll just extend the trip and head up the whites for a couple of days. Thanks-

I've skiied "packed powder".  It skis remarkably similar to a huge sheet of ice.  In fact most people can't even tell the difference.  Apparently you are a connoisseur.

There is a huge difference between real packed powder like you encounter west of Denver and the typical ice coast version (not to say the NE never gets pp conditions, just that a lot of the time it's incredibly firm or exists for the first dozen skiers down the trail before it gets scraped off and exposes the underlying "frozen granular").

Lower Ovation  MLK weekend is usually your best bet for grade 2 water ice on the ski mountain ;) 12ft boulder problems that are decent at the top of the Ramshead chair. Steller high ball bouldering in bridgwater VT 10min east on Rt 4.   a few years ago they blasted the cliffs back. Not quite as steep as it used to be but significantly taller, pretty close to 50ft grade 3 to 4++ top outs a bit interesting today.  very technical ice to slightly overhanging turf shots :) Your best option for real climbing will be Bristol. Multi pitch 2+ to 4+ a bit tricky to find and park but excellent climbing and about 1hr north of Killington road.

Bridgwater bouldering today

PS. there are a lot of cops in this area so please park at the large pullout 100m east of the climbs. Do Not park on the road. thanks.

I just couldn't resist!
Learned to ski in VT and skied the East for over 25 years.

Not really that much snark compared to usual MP posts. Any one from the east knows the love hate conditions response. I've been complaining and climbing (off and on) at the same dirty crag for 30+ years. Slopes are no different. Thankfully now helmets are excepted-

I think Lower Ovation has you best consistant steep but Lower cascade is no slouch after a nice freeze thaw. MLK weekend has the curse. seems to rain every year on wed and Thursday then the temps drop to 20 below Friday night just in time for the holliday weekend.  Even snowshed can be grade 1 water ice. The perfect conditions to have your very first learn  Ski or Ride clinic...   I actually have  even more memories of this from Okemo as every day on the way to work you had to ride the bunny lift to get to the rest of the mountain. There were times I was challenged getting down that thing and people were  having  their first ever day on skis or snowboards…

There is a small but decent quarry just past Jackson Gore but also tricky to find. PM me if you are planning in that direction.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
