Hey, looking to upgrade some Charlet Moser Axars. Has anybody used the Grivel Horn or the Petzl Trigrest? I am looking to add whichever fits the best. Also wondering what is the best pick for this tool that is still made? Krukonogi PPAQ? Are there other picks still available?

As you search for picks, it'll be helpful to know the Petzl part numbers of the Axar picks:

Older post, but I put some Grivel Triggers on the bottom of my Axars (part #PJ034.74) to make them more leashless and protect the knuckles a bit more.
I spun them around and cut off the metal portion of the trigger rest.  Works pretty good.

Did the same thing on a set of older DMM Flys.  Had originally added them to my older Bent Shaft Pulsars.  They work awesome, but cannot compare to the upper bent shaft of the Axars and other modern tools. Used them like that up til a couple of years ago.  Had my kids use them until last year when I retired them.  They are now using the Axars and Flys while I finally bought a new pair of Cobras.

As for picks, the Russian ones look great, but I have never timed purchasing them when they were in stock.

I bought a bunch of Petzl picks when I could find them.  Hurt to see them go up in pricing.
The 4x4s are good for all around, but they are thicker than the Upgrades.  I try to find the Upgrades for my kids as they only climb waterfall ice and the thin picks seem easier for them.

I can send a pick if you are still interested.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
