Traveling down to the OBED 11/9-11/12. Flying, might not be able to bring all camping gear. Anyone know if the Lilly pad rents tents or other camping gear? Trying to travel light.

Thanks!

REI in Knoxville or Chatt or Nashville is probably a solid bet

Hammock and a really low temp sleeping bag and maybe an emergency blanket for extra heat if you can't take the cold is all you need.

In case anyone else looks to this thread in the future, Lilly Pad does not rent any gear, camping, climbing, etc. Camping is primitive, porta potties and a water spigot are available. It is, however, a killer place to camp and hang out :)

Yeah, OP, wherever you're flying into, I would also suggest purchasing or renting from one of those large cities. Obed is rather remote and no where near by rents tents/sleeping bags. There is, however, a store in Crossville, about 40 min SW of Obed that sells tents and sleeping bags called Durham Sports. dunhamssports.com/product-c…;

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
