Best V8s in the state?

Colorado seems to be littered with classic V7s and V9s, but I've never been on a V8 that truly inspired me. What Colorado V8s should I check out this year?

V8 (and V10) actually don't exist on the front range. If a problem is accidentally graded V8 by the FA, it will be swiftly corrected by MP warriors.

If you would like to climb these grades, wait til May and visit the alpine.

Turning Point is a good Front Range V8. Kind of lowball, but lots of sustained movement, a flat landing, and definitely cool looking. It's accessible and in a very pretty area. Often crowded though.

I think Skipper D is the best V8 in the state. The Nothing is another classic.

- Skipper D, Upper Chaos, RMNP ****
- Arrowhead Arete (stand), Morrison South ****
- The Nothing, Area D, Mt. Evans ****
- Behind the 8 Ball, Lincoln Lake, Mt. Evans **
- 8=D, Lincoln Lake, Mt. Evans **
- Turbulence, Mid Chaos, RMNP **
- Cytogrinder, Black Hole, Morrison **

There's probably more, but that's just off the top of my head.

Ah, yes, totally forgot about Skipper D. Okay, I've been inspired by one V8. Thanks for the replies, all.

Face Full of Brian is also a fun lowball V8 in the satellite if Turning Point is not inspiring to you.

Also at Lincoln Lake: Tangerine Man. Absolute classic with a gentle start leading to powerful and sustained roof transition and a gnarly top out.

+1 for:

Skpper D
The Nothing
Turning Point

All classic in their own right.

Another that wasn't mentioned is Dough Boy out at Carter.

Definitely add Resonated, Small Ax, and the Dali. Doughboy and Love Matters I thought were V7? Both are stout for the grade. Haven't finished Doughboy, but Love Matters would definitely be soft for V8. 'll also say that, depending on your height, Resonated is probably stout for V8, though soft for V9. Slash grade feels right on that one.

I do like Love Matters a lot, I think it's a really fun problem. But I'm not sure if we should consider a dug-out boulder "inspiring".

I'm a fan of just the regular old tomato juice or the spicy blend, but the carrot mango isn't bad and the power greens is okay if you like drinking your salad.

Thievery V8 at Three Sisters is pretty f'n classic in my opinion. Superb setting, kinda airy, but with a nice landing and a ton of other great problems right beside it:

Prince Charles is a great steep compression problem nearby:

Thievery is a definite contender for best V8 in the state. Singular line, aesthetic wall and setting, best rock in Three Sisters Park, HARD moves, airy top out. Doesn't get much better!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
