"Hobbies" like climbing, skydiving, scuba, shooting etc, require a mindset outside of the imprisoned norm. That mindset is what you're looking for, I want to date a climber because they have a great relationship with their fears, same reason I want to date a skydiver, paraglider, base jumper etc., they aren't victims and they're much more likely to stow their inhibiting emotions and fears when it's time to solve problems or get things done. They're also doers who seek challenge instead of comfort like the other 99.9999% of the population. But you wouldn't know that if you don't live in that world you'd think it's just another hobby
I did it slightly different. Did the dating app. Found a solid outdoor girl that never climbed. So we went to the gym. She scurried up 5.10's like no ones business. Saw the lead climbing pit and said "that". Little petite thing with huge shoulders and back lol
We have a date night tonight (yes we still have official date nights) and she was like yea lets do dinner and be all cute but then want to climb after?!? she is hooked
I am surprised this thread hasn't been resurrected during all the social isolation going on.

No one is kidding themselves that this could ever work. Even here, the propensity to upgrade dating prospects pervades all online crap. Everyone thinks they can do better than what they browse. So the clicking never ends. Good times! Click until you die.
