Fixe Aliens update?

Anyone have some updates on the Fixe Aliens actually shipping? From what I remember, I thought they would be hitting the US in October. There seems to be plenty of info on the Totems, which appear to be very positive.

Also, fixeclimbing.com now redirects to techrock.es; it is less than useful.

Thanks for the help,

First shipments are already out - Rock and Snow in New Paltz had them the weekend of 11/5-11/6. Very fun to play with, budgetary constraints meant I had to leave empty handed. They thought only 4 or 5 other shops in the US had them at that point, maybe Neptune was another one.

Edit: I remember correctly they had Blue->Gray or maybe Red, no offsets yet.

Pagan in Moab has a full stock of them. They're legit.

Guess they have them in Bishop and Mammoth:

Big downside is that they are $80 EACH!!

Yikes. Big cost hike compared to the totems...

I was in Mammoth last weekend and Mammoth Gear and them in stock. I've never used aliens before bit I can get 3 used master Cams for the price of 1 alien. $80 is insane in my opinion.

I haven't seen the Fixe Aliens or Totem Basics, except in pictures. Can anyone tell me why I would/shoud pay $80 for Fixe's instead of $60 for Totom's? Are there any diffences other than Fixe bearing the "alien" name?

totem is only making three sizes (and their hybrids), so if you want the other sizes, you have to go Fixe. Other than that, no reason I can think of.

I don't have access to the Totem's, but I went to the local gear shop and checked out the Fixes.

I was stoked, wanted to buy the whole set; once I found out the ticket price I backed down.

I bought one, the green guy. Placed it on my lead for the day. I did not take a fall on it, but kind of wanted too.

Wish I had the whole set if it wasn't for the price.

Anyone think they'll b a price drop any time soon?

Green, Yellow and Red were the most useful sizes of Aliens anyway. I think there are better options for the Blue; Master Cams et al have smaller head widths etc. Totem "tweaked" their sizing so there wouldn't be a need for the Grey Size (7/8). I happen to like that size so if I find myself wanting it I would go and get a Fixe Grey.

OTHER than wanting Grey size though, I see no reason to get the Fixe over the Totem Basic.

Yeah we'll see...I was supposed to receive two black Aliens (that I pre-ordered!!!) in June sometime, but alas, it is July 8th and I don't have squat yet. But don't worry, they already charged my account. Awesome.

EDIT: Whooop...spoke two minutes too soon. Just checked Saturday's mail and they are here. Very nice looking pieces too.

The Mountaineer in Keene Valley has 'em.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
