Unless you want to wander off trail in the trees, snowshoes aren't terribly useful on most trails outside of Boulder. They are usually quite packed down most times of year, easily walk-able in hiking boots, but for some reason people strap on the 'shoes anyways. After it snows this weekend, if you go out first thing, it might be worth is to bring them to the Moffat Tunnel or Peaceful Valley, but we are a number of storms away from any significant amount of deep snow on the front range.

Thanks, Evan. I should have supplanted 'trails' w/areas or places. Was just looking for a spot or two, at higher elevations nearby, to float my boats. The way the weather has been down here has me looking for powder before there's a base! Thanks for the tip on Moffat & Peacful.
