I was riding my motorcycle through boulder canyon today and there was a rescue crew at one of the crags. Any info on what happened. Hopefully it was not too serious.

Yes, there was an accident today. I was the one who was injured. The accident occurred on "Birthday Suit" at the Riviera. I fell near the second bolt and flipped over, hitting my head. I was wearing a helmet, so the net result was a head lac and nothing more serious. As always, all of the Rocky Mountain Rescue folks were great; a huge thanks to them and to the bystanders who helped a lot as well.

Take home point is to wear a helmet! It definitely helped a lot in this case.

Thanks for posting. It reminded me that my helmet was in my alpine bag and I needed to pack it for this morning. Yes it's a small thing but I try hard to wear it whenever I'm leading or on a route that people can drop things or rockfall is possible...which is almost always.

Glad you were wearing your helmet, Kevin.
