The Dardanelles

I tried a search online and couldn't come up with hardly anything. Which probably means that you can't climb here for some reason. I've always wondered what this rock/peak looked like up close and if any good climbing would be present. I guess if it's not on the sonorapass climbing website, the climbing is off limits or no good. Does anyone have any info? Anyhow, here are the only good pics I could find online. I think this one is the other side: |

You can climb there and there are routes there. |

Thanks for the heads-up Strider. I might have to go do some exploring over that way when the weather gets better! Although most of my time will be dedicated to putting up routes at a new found area. Hopefully access issues will be sorted out soon... |

Bumping this thread-- the Sonora Pass climbing link above is dead. I'm interested in skiing out to and summiting one of the Dardanelles peaks (I think from the 4 is easiest in the winter). Anyone have any further information about this area and getting there in the winter? The best I could find was this trip report from earlier this year, but they didn't specifically summit any of the Dardanelles peaks. Information otherwise seems pretty darn sparse. |

I just attempted to summit yesterday and failed, picked a far too challenging route and ran out of time on the slow descending through loose material. Will definitely be back to finish the climb! |
