Hi, my name is Aaron and I'm the Rock Wall Coordinator at Dick's Sporting Goods at the Flatirons mall in Broomfield. We're in desperate need of help at our rock wall and one of my co-workers suggested posting on here to try and find some help.
Here's a list of what the job requires: -good with children, making sure they're having fun -basic understanding of rock climbing(not a problem here I'm sure) -able to work weekends and flexible hours -ensuring the safety of all climbers and spectators -able to provide good customer service -willing to help other departments if the rock wall isn't busy
To apply, just go to dickssportinggoods.jobs, then go to Store Careers->Hourly Jobs, search Broomfield, Colorado, click on Climbing Wall Associate-FlatIron Crossing, and click Apply Online.
If you need a job with more hours than just part time, you can cross train into another department and be able to get full time between that and the rock wall.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my topic and if you're not interested in this job but know someone who might be, please let them know about it. And if this topic is in the wrong forum, I apologize and will gladly repost in the correct forum if this can't be moved.
Interesting post Aaron, hopefully you can find some help. I've been into the Dick's store at Park Meadows a couple times, but haven't climbed the wall. That wall looks pretty sweet! But when I've gone, nobody around had a clue about the procedures for climbing the wall. There was no signage, no indication on when the wall is staffed with belayers, etc. I'd like to climb it someday, but jeez! Hopefully your store is much better.
Just curious, how much does a climbing wall associate make?
Wow, sorry you've had such a bad experience at the park meadows store. We always make sure we have signs up letting people know our hours and if we're closed or open.
And i believe the minimum starting pay is $8/hr and it can go up based on experience.
