I'm not sure what night time temps were in the cirque for the past few days, but I've heard they might be just below freezing. Snow was not so good the weekend prior. Too warm in the nights.

Shane and I did Osiris at Lumpy Ridge on Sunday. Shane led the route like a champ, I groveled my way to the top. Weather was nice, route was certainly interesting to say the least. I'll post a pic or two when I get them from Shane

Did you keep to the left hand face when following pitch 1, or try and do the wide part to the right?

Dreamweaver looks pretty snowy still, but Martha was in great shape on Saturday. Adam - You must have been the party I saw on Osiris Sunday. Way to go! Post up some pics!

I'll see if I can get the pics from Shane tonight, I forgot my camera. Tim - Shane led inside the chimney the whole way, placing nuts in the crack high and right (the larger chimney section maybe 45ft up). I was wearing a small pack (the one I custom made with the gear racking system) it made chimneying really difficult. I fell out at the very top and finished the last section right before the 1st ledge in the "book pages". Shane set up at the belay at the tree slightly higher up. We did the route in 3 pitches with my 70m. The last pitch was a stretch, with only a few feet of rope left. I found the route to be really hard, not a style of climbing I have a lot of experience with. We managed to walk past the rappels, and ended up walking all the way back to our packs with some slight bushwhacking. I think there's a reason Lumpy's not that crowded, the hike is a little rough.

Adam, when I first led that pitch I noticed the gear was off to the right in a small crack along the edge of that wide chimney. But I climbed off to the left on the face holds to stay out of the wide. James, it's cool putting together what everyone was on and what we observed when we were climbing, isn't it? Some of us have funny colored helmets and that helps identifying the guilty parties. Some friends went to Shelf and had fun with the awakening bears in another thread. Tents got mauled. Kind of puts the Eldo chipmunk pack terror attacks in perspective.

kirra wrote: no bear-mauling-tent photos..? I finally got my comeuppance at Eldo last year. A friend of mine forgot and left a bag of trail mix partially opened and a chipmunk ate through his pack. I laughed the laugh of the soon to be poetically justified. The next week we got down to our packs and a chipmunk had completely tunneled through a point in the upper compartment of my pack to get at a half eaten clif bar. The funny thing was that he gnawed into a perfectly good unopened one, but left the open one alone. Guess he wanted the freshest possible treat.

Joseph gets the award for most mileage! Nice job. I must have hiked by Adam and Shane while they were racking up for Osiris. My wife, a friend, and I did Road Kill, Living Dead, and Stretch Marks into P2 of Loose Ends. Great day to be up on the Book. The high country looks pretty snowed in, I can't believe those photos of Glacier Gorge that Ross took. Looks like mid-winter up there!

Kirra and I had a nice time climbing at Shelf and bonding with nature. What a fun time. I also got in a few good trail runs near my house in Deer Creek Canyon.

Checked out some newly developed Western Slope cliffs/routes on Saturday & Monday, & squeezed in a great bike ride to Aspen on the newly finished (paved) Rio Grande bike path on Sunday.
