I was wondering if any of the SLC climbers have wondered up into Pharaho's Glen in Parley's. Back in the mid 90's we climbed a 2 pitcher on the spire you can see as you head westbound on I-80 - right before you go under the Pharaho's Glen overpass. It was solid enough and felt like 5.7. We also found a 100' slab just east of the spire that we found some 5.8 trad lines. There is not a lot more to be had up there that we thought was very clean, but we only looked around twice.
A funny story on the access - which we found to be very good. The private property that Ira Sax from Park City owns can be crossed by going right up the road, they had given climbers permission back then, and again in 2006. One late summer afternoon as we came back down from climbing, we heard voices at the creek, and peered through the bushes - right into a full-on porno shoot. We kept our heads down, called out that we were there, and they told us to come on down. We talked with them about the great climbing etc... (the girls put a towel on), then we headed down the road for some beers, and a whopper of a story to tell.
Also - we went up there in February of 1998 and the waterfall was frozen up pretty good - so we did a short 60' of WI4. It's a really beautiful, magical place up there, and if you have a free day, its worth a look.
