Has any one heard when the new guide book will be published?

Tom;
I may have a extra if indeed you are a true clubber and not a imposer working for the secret rightwing organization which is working to undermine the good social programs the dlfa has so valiantly worked to put in place to make Devils Lake and the world a better place for mankind. Please send resume with character witnesses, photographs, alledged ascents, women who have fallen under your swordsmanship and your police record to the correct authorities. Leo may be to busy to send you a copy since he appears to be far to busy to ever contact his old friend Rich!

Dude,

Rule number one.

And Tom's answer seems pretty reasonable given your statement here.

Please learn some history before you go slagging too, as the Extremist's Guide is an artifact from the Golden Age of Climbing at Devil's Lake, and yes that happened in Wisconsin.

James

P.S. Leo- I can't wait to get a copy of the extremists guide, whenever you do get the chance to PDF it...

A new edition of the "Extremist's Guide"? I hear Leo has a contract with General Media, Inc. Is Zscheische doing the illustrations?

If there's demand, I'd consider bootlegging the Extremist's Guide to you. Caution: this product could make you go blind.

sorry about coming off as a jerk, but i'm trying to get info about a rock climbing guide book, soon to be published by Olaf. and all i get is talk about the extremists guide. maybe i should have been more clear in my question, maybe it's my fault, but i thought i was pretty clear. guess i'll ask somewhere else.

I don't think anyone knows, otherwise you'd have gotten an answer... I can't imagine there is much in the new edition that isn't in the old one or on here.

Kris,

My apologies too. I think that I got things off track by referencing the extremists guide.
Things in the midwest move slowly.
I haven't gotten the extremists guide after about 25 years, so check back on Olaf's guide in another 30 years or so.
Leo - Anytime you manage to run off a xerox copy, remember I've got a raincheck.
Rich - I am The Megalomaniacal Potentate of Fukness, a title that received your blessing.

I may have copies of 2 different Hoofer guides that I can copy for you. They are not quite as raw as the Extremists guide but very good reading and also quite a bit about history at the lake. If I can find it I will also send a copy of a letter I wrote defending Leos guide that was published in a international climbing magazine. As they say it never hurts to be friends with the editor. If that letter was published now in one of these wishy, washy mags there would be a public outcry from overly sensitive do-gooders that would never end.

Rich-

It would be very cool to have those pieces of history, I'd love to see them...

Thanks,
James

Whatever happened to Melissa Quigley? Exactly.
But the DLFA lives on!

President Riccardo- you know I can't communicate with you since the FISA wiretaps were put in place. Next time I'm in the midwest I'll wear the appropriate disguise (maybe with some natty official CMC Climbing Leader epaulets) and make contact.

Upon the advise of my lawyers I cannot respond on the location of said individual. Also I cannot reveal my where abouts due to the tenacious and violent nature of crag hag hit squads that are lurking in the shadows waiting for my return to public life. After all, who can forget the last time those violent beasts made a attempt on my life by trying to seize the belay from Dave Crawford when I was half way up Mother of pearl.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
