I'm thinking of climbing indian rock in berkeley, and I'm just wondering if there are bolts already placed or if i need to rig an anchor. does the pitch even require draws?
thanks!

Almost all of the climbing at Indian Rock is merely bouldering, and given the generally soft landing, a lot of people don't even use crashpads! There are no draws on the actual route, it is top rope only. If you want to rig up an anchor for the I-boulder (the large 25 foot rock in the center of the pit), or the left overhang problem, there are bolts in the rock up top, but generally no hangers there. With hangers, bring some slings up to 10 feet in length to equalize the hangers. If you don't have any hangers, I wouldn't recommend top-roping either of these, as I don't think there's an especially safe way to place pro or slings up above. I may be wrong though - does anyone else have any ideas?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
