Im looking for a good overall shoe for traveling with. I mostly do static sports climbing. How good is it for tiny foot holds? Flagging? Smearing? Toe hooks?

I’d go for a muira vs or similar before a bd aspect. It’s a fine shoe, but not that versatile.

Mine climbed well for trad and low sport, but hurt my toes,I find the miura and katana fit me better for an all around shoe.

They're flat lasted and the rubber kinda sucks. They're very stiff and thus somewhat good for easy trad or a beater gym shoe (as you can find them cheap), but definitely not great at smearing.

Find the shoe that fits your foot the best. Find a shop where you can try stuff on.

The devil you know will perform better than some ultra new age carbon shoe that fits like a wet sock on a doorknob

I agree with Conrad Wanker, making sure the shoe fits has gotta be the first or second most important thing! As a point of reference, I've been wearing TC Pros for at least ten years now, going up a half size every few years as my feet got bigger or more worn out. In the last couple of years I found they were starting to hurt my feet, and my big toe especially. I'd always sized them for all day or most-of-the-day comfort, but my feet would start to hurt after only a handful of pitches, and then they would be sore for several days afterward, causing me to limp.

Eventually, I tried the BD Aspect Pros, and they were much better for my feet! I think the major difference is that my big toe stays straighter in the BD Aspect Pros, whereas in the TC Pros my big toes got angled/bent in toward the middle of my foot. And after resoling the BD Aspect Pros with better rubber, they're my new favorite shoe! I'm also a fan of the 5.10 Grandstones because they're soft and squishy and conform to my knackered feet very well. They're not great for hard edging, but they sure are comfortable for all day cragging!

Of note - while the fit is similar between aspects and aspect pros, they could not be more different shoes as aspect pros are very soft and smeary. They're my go-to trad shoe now as well.

Whoops! I didn't realize the original poster asked about Aspects, and not Aspect Pros! Yes, you're correct, I have both shoes and find the Aspects stiff and flat, and the Aspect Pros soft and smeary. Also, the Aspects kinda bite into my Achilles tendon, which is surprising because I've never had that problem with other shoes (even ones that are notorious for being ankle biters). I feel like the Aspect Pros are a higher quality shoe than the Aspects.
