North End Current Conditions

Has anyone been to the north end ice climbing recently? If weather stays on forecast, do you think they died laughing wall of the north end would be climbable (rock climbing) Tuesday afternoon? |

There's a lot of snow that sits on top of the North End rock climbing and that'll lead to some long term seepage. But perhaps much more importantly, there is a great big ice climb that sits above the North End. It's probably best to not even find yourself standing at the base of the cliff on Tuesday. Cathedral can be so tempting as things warm up and start to dry out, but most of the cliff needs a fair bit of time to really shed all of the ice that hangs on in all the nooks and crannies up above. |

@ Grant you mentioned Woodchuck, you think Zonkers would be dry by the end of this week (looks like a dry week coming up). Any falcon closures posted for 2026? Thanks! |

I'd think it would be dry. There's a lot at Woodchuck that dries pretty quickly and it sees a lot of sun this time of year. No known peregrine closures yet. And I believe that the closures only impact the Diamond Wall and the Main Cliff, leaving the Zonkers zone open even when the birds are present. The posting/signage usually sits right on the edge of the talus field. Have fun out there! |
