Longs/Meeker Conditions

Anyone been up in the cirque recently? Trying to figure out when spring conditions are gonna be in with the doozy of a year we've had. Hoping to get on dreamweaver or the flying dutchman. Any info helps! |

I haven’t been up there but a word of warning about the thin snowpack in the west. Last year I was lured into believing spring conditions were on the way given how warm last March was. I allowed that information of warm temps and spring like days to influence my decision making and ultimately ended up getting caught and carried in a large avalanche. Stay safe out there. |

Max McGillwrote: I hiked up the SE face on grass, dropped into the northeast face on snow. The crown was only 12” deep but it broke 800’ wide. I was carried 300’ or so down the slope and luckily came to stop before hitting some trees and even more lucky I wasn’t carried to the bottom where there is a gigantic terrain trap where 15’ of snow piled up. Anyhow, the warm up made the snow surface super firm, but it hadn’t become a single layer yet. It had put even more tension in the slab. It broke like a pane of glass. |

Given the super warm winter we’ve had, when will the Diamond come in? |
