Zion aid protection beta

I’m hoping to try my first go at some wall climbing in Zion this April. Was looking at either touchstone wall or spaceshot (or both) as they sound like they fit the bill for my experience. Was wondering how important having tri cams are for these routes? I don’t currently have any and was curious if they are pretty crucial or not. Thanks for the beta!

Might use them on touchstone, not a necessity.

Wouldn’t bring on spaceshot. The crux of spaceshot is much more tricky than anything on touchstone. In my opinion.

Red ball and blue ball nuts get through both route cruxes well also.

I've heard that the orange Totem is also pretty helpful (at least on Touchstone). I have a full set of totems up to Red already. Also for nuts I have 2 sets of medium/small offsets and 1 set of DMM peenuts that I was hoping would work as well (heard HBs work well but trying to not have to get too much new pro at this time if possible). Any thoughts on importance of some of those pieces as well?

We've heard people have success with totems and HB's are always useful

orange totem and offset cams are super helpful, if you have all of those you probably don't need tricams

I ended up picking up an orange totem and have a full set of totems with double black.  I have a couple offset cams but not a full set, hoping that should be manageable. Thanks for the beta everyone!

I tried the totem method on spaceshot’s crux and being short, the only thing I could finagle was a tricam ( I think pink)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
