What’s your climbing toxic trait?

If I used a quad to lead the Bachar Yerian does the Gumby cancel out or multiply

Quad Gumbies CAN have strong fingers and be bold kinda like how the autistic can be savants like Rain Man. However, they typically don't learn to tie their own shoes, ever.

I avoid 5.10d and 11d routes. If there was a 5.9d I'd avoid that too.

That explains why I’ve been stuck with the Velcro shoes this whole time!

A drewwrote:

My climbing toxic trait? I miss the days when we argued about bolt counts instead of pronouns and route names. Half of Mountain Project wants to rename every route like it’s a corporate rebrand, and I’m over here still trying to remember which rusty cold shut I almost died on in 2004. If I sent something offensive, my bad — I was more focused on not decking than curating a morally pristine tick list.

My toxic trait is I think it’s silly to try to turn all the names PG, and I actually really don’t like when climbs change to names that aren’t as crude. I think it’s an important part of climbing that there are horrible names of climbs out there that aren’t purposefully crude

Any time I've done a sketchy/scary lead, I'll immediately downplay it afterward when I tell other people they should try the route.

"Oh, it's a chill lead! Maybe a little run-out in the easier climbing but there's gear/bolts where you want them to be."

I always want to stay in the same season/activity that I'm in

December? Maybe I'll just skip ice this year and rock climb all through the winter

March? Fuck I miss ice climbing already

September? So sad that alpine rock season is ending, better stretch it as long as possible chasing sun

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
