Probably got about 15 minutes of light rain and it’s bluebird and windy now for the day. Not making any suggestions either way just sharing the weather! |

Rained yesterday and looking like a good chance this Thursday. Exercise restraint and good judgement this weekend folks. |

Already rained 0.82 Inches at the Red Rock Visitor Center since Feb 16th. Rained more this morning the 18th. Be wise when the storm passes. |

It’s SOAKED in Red Rock.. this much rain (~1in) would take about a week for things to dry properly; make good choices and preserve the sandstone.

Ryan Enrightwrote: Hell, while we're at it, double or nothing: I declare the rock won't be dry until March. (I'll be climbing at Lime Kiln this weekend to avoid the wet rock but let's get a grip. At a certain point these proclamations strain credulity. It's been windy and sunny during the day - I suspect by Monday/Tuesday most stuff with sun exposure will be good to go even if the forecasted overnight light rain arrives tonight.) |

Crazy amount of snow in Red Rock on my drive to work this morning, never seen this much. If you have time tomorrow go for a hike, should be gorgeous. All that said my wife and I will be at Keyhole or Rainbow this weekend for sure. |

MattHwrote: There’s standing snow (~4in) on parts of the canyon currently, and more weather forecasted into Thursday. This is the most precip the area has had in months. Tuesday would be pretty close to a week from now, so we suspect dry rock within a day or two of each other. I think my point is that the canyon should be avoided this week, for those with travel plans. |

Not sure even for sending you'd want wet conditions anyway. I guess ask Ryuichi Murai this question when he did the return of the sleepwalker right after the monster rain storm we had this past thanksgiving. The climbing community celebrated and us locals were annoyed to say the least. I guess in the climbing community you can only climb wet rock if you are a pro and everyone else well get blasted for it. |

Have you guys climbed on red rocks sandstone? It is incredibly porous in a lot of spots, and often fragile even dry. There's some types of rock that are totally fine in the rain - the schist at Rumney, for example. This sandstone is not even close to one of them. |

I'm just here for the pretty pictures Thursday February 19 2026 0700 and not quite 30 degrees Watch for snow and bad drivers on the loop road |

Beautiful photos Annie! Also, put Keyhole Canyon on your list for backup climbing. We had a lot of fun exploring the area over Thanksgiving. It’s about a 40 minute drive from the campground towards Boulder City and it's granite. |

Currently snowing again in Red Rock. Seems like a ski weekend. |
