Favorite wood holds?
|
|
I'm planning on adding more wood holds to my spray wall and wanted to see which ones people really enjoy. I mean specific holds, not just brands. Whichever ones make you want to use them, whether it be from their feel, versatility, or just plain looks. My favorites so far have been the beastmaker classic crimps and chunky leaf crimps. They're my favorite crimps on my board and end up getting used in a lot of problems. Which holds are folks stoked on? |

Hardwood Holds Incut Crimp and 20mm crimp (16mm or 12mm if you're a beast) Also have a few Taylor Made crimps and edges that I really like |

Escape Holds, specifically the wood training crimps. Also, metolius wood slopers, specifically the ones with the 20mm incut |
|
|
I like Crux Forged mini crimps at like 10-15° incut, 16mm |

Beastmaker poprods. You could literally make a Volny style board with them and never feel lacking |

Trevor Kerberwrote: I picked up a handful of their holds and I've been impressed so far. I really like how you can pick your edge depth and incut degrees, and the holds I got look better than the pictures on their website. Unfortunately with the tariff situation and the end of de minimis, HWH stopped shipping to the US and it seems like there would be a fairly sizable upcharge for other European manufacturers. It's a shame because I love my Beastmaker holds and was really curious about HWH. |

I'll plug myself here a bit since my shaping style and production is pretty different than a lot of the other folks.l used to make "stock" sets, but nowadays I stay pretty busy with custom orders, which are great because I can work with a specific budget, wall angle, and get the ability to make what will work best for each individual customer. You can see my work at www.burlwoodgrips.com or on IG @burlwoodgrips. I'm on social media detox, so if you want to talk about ordering just reach out here or through the website! |

Those are some of the nicest wood holds I have ever seen, well done! |

beastmaker bubble rail and custom holds (you can tell them wall angle and what you want, they'll make it for no extra charge!). hardwood holds board slopers and XL pinch (btw, all of these are sold out according to the website. I'd email them and see what's up; the site is not always accurate). |
