Portland Oregon- Rocky Butte Conditions

Howdy Portland Locals- my buddy and I want to take advantage of the good weather but don’t wanna drive too far. How quickly does Rocky Butte dry up in the winter? 

Most routes will be seeping. Depending where you live you can do a recon mission and see which look dry, though. Rocky butte is dead to me November through March, and I love the butte (well, only wall of shadows).  Almost any other local crag would be better, especially south facing ones like madrone, ozone or drop zone or even beacon. Broughton would also be good.

And portions of Eagles Rest would be worth looking at too.

I know your weekend is already passed, but for everyone else's reference Rocky Butte is east/northeast/north facing and consistently 10-15 degrees colder than the forecast. Lots of routes seep and are generally off limits for winter, none get direct sun and dry out slowly after rain. Really a route-by-route day-by-day basis. I was there yesterday, and was way too optimistic after a warm Saturday at Madrone and boy it was coooold. 

And since we're talking about it, it's awesome if you can bring a plastic bag and maybe grab a piece of trash on your way out. Wall of Shadows was pretty clean yesterday but it takes upkeep
