The Oak Flat Saga Continues

Regardless of which side you claim, if you have visited and spent time at the USFS Oak Flat Campground and surrounding USFS public lands; the camping, the access to 4-wheeling, the mountain biking, the OHV rides, the climbing/bouldering, the hiking, the respite at ~4,000' from the lower desert heat, the intermittent streams, the solace, etc., etc., it becomes clear why the Apache revere and seek to maintain the Oak Flat lands intact.

Fingers crossed that we:

Rep. Grijalva carries on where her dear departed father left off. FWIW, Congress is probably the only org that can save the surfaces in and around Oak Flat, perhaps including the upper reaches of The Dripping Springs Valley and headwaters area of Mineral Creek.

Perhaps when you've been out in the Queen Creek/Oak Flat areas you've seen the signage and presence of the Native People in the Oak Flat Campground proper who have and are giving their best to maintain their presence at  the Oak Flat environs as they have been for centuries.

A tip of the hat and a thank you to them is well deserved. 

I stand with Oak Flats. It would be a travesty to lose this climbing area to mining. I applaud all the effort put in by the various organizations and entities who have fought for so many years to protect this area for future enjoyment.
