I recently had a chance to help develop a route with Colorado guidebook author and route developer Tal Wanish.

Appreciate seeing a well produced video featuring a route developer putting in time to a beginner friendly crag and mentoring others. I think mentors are the true heroes of this world, and developing routes that are inclusive to all climbing abilities is honorable. Bravo |

My partner and I have loved the nice climbs/crags Tal has been developing in the South Platte. Thank you Tal! |

Thanks for sharing Gordon! It was a great day out. Having a longer route really put the finishing touches on the crag (though, rumor has it, I've heard a few people discussing adding some more...). Aaron, glad you've made it out to Wonderland! Hope you've been having fun with it. Andy, you could be next brother! Come on down south, I've got more rock down here than I know what to do with! Plenty of stuff in the backlog to do. Ken, glad to see you're at peace with your relationship with climbing - that being said, if you ever do decide to get back into it, this wall would be a great place for you! Some discussions I had with some old Platte Rats was what spawned its creation in the first place - wanting to make sure the people who had called the South Platte home for decades would still have places to climb (and lead) until they weren't able to do the walk to get themselves there. If you'd prefer to jump back in both feet first, don't worry, we've got routes up to 5.14 and plenty of mental testpieces for ya. |

Tal - appreciate the invite! But I'm content leaving the bolting to others, and like it up here in the far north (I'm allergic to traffic). Cheers and happy Thanksgiving! |
