Sadly someone fell to their death on the South Ridge of Mt Superior today. The victim has not been identified.

I responded to this one. Climbs can be both physically easy, involved, and consequential. We've had a lot of calls for folks on both Superior and Mt. Olympus this year, many of which could have resulted in a fatality. Sadly this one actually did. I can't and won't share details about this incident at this time.

Please recreate responsibly and be respectful to the deceased.

Last weekend I was in LCC. I was wondering how icy the east side of the ridge is right now.

Yesterday afternoon.  Pretty warm and dry but a bit chilly in the shade

Is there some beta on where the accident happened on the route? Good for people to be aware of this.

There are a lot of no fall spots on the ridge.

I can provide an update when I'm cleared to do so.
