Seeking Beta for Inti Watana
|

Curious if all of Inti Watana has rap rings on every belay station? or is it "every other" has rap rings because it assumes you are bringing 2, 60 m ropes? also, it sounded like at one point many bolts were loose, but P1/2 now has glue ins, can anyone else comment on the quality of the bolts after that. And if you have any other beta for Inti Watana feel free to post. Trying to decide between one 80m rope or 2, 60s or 1, 60 and one tag line. Thanks! |

One 80m gets you down. One 70m works for every rap but one, and some people have rigged up a short pull cord situation for that. Bolts are all good, and there’s a billion of em so enjoy the romp. |

Rpropswrote: A 30-40ft piece of 3-4mm dyneema is a great little thing to have for this kind of stuff. Also rigging for the first to descend on a releasable single rap so that they can be lowered an additional 30ft if needed is nice. |

Second the short length of 4mm tagline. OP, if what to do in this scenario (70m + short tagline) needs to be explained, I would recommend just taking an 80m until you have the systems dialed for what is being suggested. |

yeah, I don't have an interest in rigging a single strand for a repel, and if I did bring a tag, it would be the length needed to do a double strand repel - ie my tag is 70 m, and I know that the tag doesn't stretch as much as my ropes. Is this what you were getting at christian? |

You can also just continue on to resolution arete from top of inti to Wilson's summit and walk off. Single 70m works for this |

Kiki, there's always 10 ways to skin a cat, right? In my mind, you'd follow JB's advice and set up the first on a single strand, so that they could lower you if you come to the end and are still shy of the next anchor. However, if all of this isn't already second nature and/or you have never done it, I think the wise choice is to follow the advice of taking an 80 and keeping things simple and more guaranteed, rather than introducing what might be a complex process to your descent. Def your choice and you may well have the same amount of experience as I do... but again, if this is something that you've yet to do in the real world, the 80m seems safest. |
