Pay Showers at City of Rocks?
I'll be climbing at City of Rocks for six days in Mid-September. I don't mind sticking my head under a camp faucet to get clean but wondering if there are any pay shower facilities in Almo or nearby? |

Tracy's has a shower or you can pay $7 to shower at the Smokey Mtn campground. |

Yep, Tracy's General Store. I just looked at the City of Rocks RV website and they have an outdoor shower as well. Not sure if you can buy just a shower but it may be worth checking. For food Tracy's has had sandwiches and ice cream. Rock City Mercantile (if open) for pizza. The Outpost Steakhouse has never been open when I've been there so I can't comment on that. |

Camp and climb has great showers. I think it's $5 if you're not camping there. |

We always bring our own water to limit the drain on the aquifer, but we shower at Tracy’s, or Smokey mtn(grab a camp slip and fill out for shower only). Rock city has good pizza, but have been increasingly hard to do business with since covid. The steakhouse is open again and have always loved it. Tracy’s has cheap and delicious homemade breakfast burritos and keurig coffee. |

You’re right- here’s a better way to phrase it- The staff at the visitor center asked us to bring our own water from home to offset the strain on the local desert water sources. So that’s what we do, and I think it’s a good idea to adopt. Also the climbing rangers will chew you a new one if your dog is off leash within the park, and I’ve seen them issue tickets if you park outside if designated parking. I don’t know if you wanted to know all that (you probably already did) but it all helps to maintain the fragile desert environment so we can all enjoy this amazing area for years to come. I know I like to know that kind of beta before visiting an area so I’d thought I’d share:) |

Thanks for all the good guidance! I'm so stoked to be there. My son and I visited in June (my first time climbing there in, like, 30 years) and it was just unbelievably beautiful. And the rock, OMG, some of the best in the West. |

I thought the hot springs were the climber showers? |

Matt Nwrote: Not if you like to use soap/shampoo. The entrance fee was up to $10 as well. |

If this was a real climbers website, the title would read FREE SHOWERS…. |
oldfattradguuy kkwrote: I'm there for six days. I'll make it a goal to find out how to get free showers during that time. |
oldfattradguuy kkwrote: Real climbers don't take showers. They bath in the livestock watering troughs in Indian Grove or Center Creek. |
The only free showers in Idaho are at the rest areas when they’re watering the lawns! |

Haven't any of you ever been to Bath Rock? there are numerous tubs on top. |
