Hi All, Is there a go to gym shoe folks wear with socks so you don’t have to take them on and off? I was thinking to just size up on miura lace, or try a shoe like the Finale, but thought i would ask around in case there is an obvious answer. Thanks!

Climbing shoes are not good for long term foot health, even if sized comfortably. You should be removing them as often as possible. A flat lasted or moderately downturned slipper makes this more convenient. Not to mention, even with socks on, sweaty feet and shoes suck. Taking shoes off frequently mitigates this.

Mad rock Remora seems to be a popular option, if it fits your foot. But most manufacturers make a slipper-ish shoe, sometimes a true slipper and sometimes with a single velcro strap. Whatever brand you know tends to fit your foot should have something like this.

Finale in your street shoe size is very comfortable, and a reasonably decent gym shoe.

I wear sportiva cobras in my regular sportiva size with a liner sock. Easy to get on and off and good for gym style climbing. They also don't break the bank. But I agree with the sentiment above that you should prioritize getting on and off easily over finding shoes you can wear for 2 hours at a time.

I'm not sure why the two things are linked? Socks and keeping shoes on?  I always wear socks with all my climbing shoes.  Some of my shoes are all day comfortable and some are uncomfortable.  But in the gym, my shoes are things that have been retired from outside, so they are typically fairly broken in. For gym sport my climbing shoes are always velcro, so I can slip them off easily between routes.  I keep the toes in the shoe and stand on the heel section. Just takes a sec to slip on and off and you save your feet.

I use liner socks and you'd have to pay real close attention to tell the difference with no socks.

Hey Levi, it's been awhile.   I've been wearing LS Finale's as my go to all around comfy shoe both indoors & outside...with socks.

Hi all, sorry for the delay. I use a bouldering gym so its nice to leave shoes on, climb and lift or stretch a bit. I went with the finale in street shoe size and its what i wanted, never have to take my socks off, just take off sneakers put on climbing shoes and vice versa. When i am fitter i can revert to performance fitted shoes and the on/off on/off process, usually with some crocs in between. Thanks all and Ron great to connect with u!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
