Totem trigger handle repair?

Hey there,

Lots of posts on fixing trigger wires, this one is about fixing the broken plastic handle. Any creative ideas on how to fix this one?

This seems like the perfect job for a 3d printer. You could model it with separate front and back halves that could come together to capture all the appropriate wires (since you can’t thread something new on). Then the two halves are held together with a small screw or two.

Or something like that, I don’t have a 3d printer haha

3D printing is a good idea! I don't have one either, but know someone who might...

If there's a lengthwise hole between the stems, you can use that to secure a wire-based half bar:

Sugru might be an option if 3D printing is out

Hey Gunkiemike, you have exactly the same break as mine. Can you post a few more pics? What kind of wire did you use to build the half bar? Is there epoxy (or something else) on the end point?

There is a dollop of JB Weld on there. I'll post a couple pics of process when I get back home.

Hunter, would you 3D print one for me too? I have the exact same problem. Would be happy to pay.

There was a thread about this a couple months ago, someone who was selling 3d printed triggers of their own design. They looked really good. I’ll see if I can find it and will edit this post if I do.

Edit: I found it. Looks like the dude took his website down, but you could PM him and see what the story is.

Thanks SP, hopefully he’ll respond. Fixing it would be great, and I don’t think it’s a service that totem provides.

Link to the STL I made for Jennifer. Hope this helps some people!

This print is designed to snap together on the center axis with two little hooks. Therefore, there's a "male" side and a "female" side that come together to make a complete unit. Might be clever to add a little glue when installing to make the joint bomber!

Oh, and I printed them both right side up if that makes sense? In other words, standing upright with the joint face pointing to one side and the part that faces the climber sitting on the build plate. Standard printer settings. Use supports.

Does anyone have the file for the 3D printed Totem trigger? I haven't been able to find anyone who would make me one for money, but I found someone with a 3D printer.

Isn't this what Hunter posted links to is his message above?

A friend of a friend (thanks Matt and Giles!) 3D printed the trigger for me using those files. Thanks Hunter as well! Hopefully it holds up, but for now at least it seems to be back to 100%.
