SCAM

Yep, total scam site. I recently fell for a similar site, one “selling” trail running shoes that were priced way, way too good to be true. I was lucky that my bank was able to cancel payment and got me out of that mess. I was way too eager to get something for cheap and was not careful. TBH I don’t see how anyone gets away with this, but there really isn’t anything to prohibit a scammer from building and fleecing people with a somewhat convincing scam site, except maybe careful consumer research and observation (and communicating to others in forums like this, great job!). Do a little digging on that site and you’ll see strange phrasing, run-on sentences, mashed-together words, and other indicators that this is a scam site. Good luck and stay safe.

I got an ad and was seriously browsing it, but something just felt off which made me look into it more.  Good one, almost got me.

Wouldn't it be something is that red warning screen was also part of the scam, and clicking the link to get the enhanced protection is what installs the malware.

Be on the lookout, folks. I nearly got got by a Darn Tough scam site. Similar naming structure. Came from a Facebook ad (reminder to report them when you see them). My friend actually fell for it and I was seconds away.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
