I used ChatGPT to parse out how these are different than today's models.

Honestly, the response doesn't really seem accurate compared to the diagrams in the patent.  Pretty sure chatGPT is just having hallucinations about totems.

The patents show a typical dual-axle cam head, like a Camalot, not direct-load like a Totem.

Petzl could still do direct load, it’s just not the focus of these patents.

The innovation in these patents is that the tensile strength of the stem is provided by a loop of cord, and compressive strength (against which the trigger springs work) provided by the tube in which the loop of cord runs. Kind of like an ultralight Camalot. But the cord is doubled up to make two loops with a twist.

The patents show various ways to attach the cord to the head (looped around both axles, girth hitched around both axles, looped around a removable pin, etc), and to attach the thumb loop cover to the stem, covering that end of the cord. It looks like some of the ideas could imply the loop of cord is replaceable, which is not true of ultralight Camalots.

There is a “quick release” clip in one patent, with the clip shape seemingly mated with the specific cross section shape of the stem. It would attach to the harness on an ice clipper slot.

One of the patents also shows trigger keepers to keep big cams retracted.

I can't wait to try them out!

Hopefully their #2/yellow equivalent is closer to WC's size range than BD/DMM's size range

I had a play with a prototype last month. They are very similar to the BD ultralights, the one I saw has quite a different lobe design but that light just because it's not the final version. Like was said above, white stem, other than that very similar to the bds.
