Yea...so in February I was touring on the ridge between Cardiff and Superior (Two Trees area specifically) and I forgot to lock the toe on my skis*. The conditions sucked and I twisted out of my binding. My ski shot off down towards the road, brakes up and skins on. And let's just say the way down wasn't my best run of the season...
Anyway, now that the snow is melting, I have been going back up weekly to look for it at the bottom of Hellgate buttress area on the slide paths with no luck. It has Dynafit bindings and yellow Pomoca skin.
*Yes, I know it was stupid to not lock the toe. No need to remind me.
If you have seen it or found it can you let me know? I'll hook you up with a 6-pack of your choice. Here is a picture...
That sucks! Did you call Alta Ski Patrol? If I was hiking/skiing up there in spring and found a single ski, I'd probably try to drop it off to them. Worth a call, maybe?
Hope you get it back. Or at least learn to ski better on one leg.
Decades ago my housemate had something similar happen. Right after it happened he bought an other pair of the exact same skis and binding figuring he now had a spare. Fast forward to late spring, I suggested he go for a hike and look for the errant ski. He found it on the first outing. So there is hope.
