Idaho Ice?
|
Twin Falls canyon from the Shoshone falls overlook, today. Pretty grim. Had a good time playing with the tools at Gemstone, though! Lucky I had the helmets along, lol! https://youtu.be/JDbtDyZH8f4 Yes, I suck, but hey, I've only got one pitch of ice outside, and I just turned 62. Had fun anyway, and it sure felt nice to be working with those grips! I was really missing crampons, though. Best, Helen |

Amadeus wrote: Hello again everyone,I'm finally here in the valley and think I'm over jetlag (13 hours difference) and am up for some climbing soon. I know its been pretty cold here for the past week, but do you think any ice has come in? Drop me a line if you are interested in anything. Also, Sometime in February, one of my friends living in Kyrgyzstan is passing through Colorado on his way to Hawaii (work trips for him are so crappy...) and he wants to hit up Ouray for a few days.] Company is easily welcomed on the trip! Hello everyone, I'll be moving from Kyrgyzstan to Idaho soon (for 6 months) just in time for winter climbing. Is there anything, specifically waterfall ice, within a reasonable drive of the Boise area? I saw a picture a couple years ago of some frozen ice in twin falls. Is that a regular occurrence? Will be arriving at the end of November, but assume there won't be anything till January (if there ever is anything...) |

So, is ice coming in, for south/southwest Idaho?? Twin Falls, Hidden Falls, etc?? |

Hi all, wife and I were planning a day or two of ice climbing in FEB (I'm in Boise for work) don't want to drag the misses down miles of trails, she's got two solid seasons for climbing at the Ouray park, so looking at something a little more challenging for her. Any opinions on Copper falls? the 8hr drive from Boise loolks like the worse part??? |

If temps are cold you can hit Twin Falls ice. Homedale has ice in the area that comes in intermittantly as does Lucky Peak Reservoir. Ask around locally at the climbing gyms. All short approaches. |

S Sims, you have replied to an old post in an old thread. Kevin passed away in a climbing accident a few years ago. Maybe delete and repost your query? We still miss him. |
